KTM AG, Europe's leading manufacturer of high-performance sports motorcycles for on-road and off-road use, has selected PTC's Codebeamer as the Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) platform to be standardized across the KTM Group globally. This strategic decision extends KTM's long-standing relationship with PTC and aims to centralize and optimize KTM's engineering processes in both hardware and software development.
KTM will replace two existing systems with Codebeamer and consolidate the different workflows into a single, efficient platform. Initially, KTM will use Codebeamer for E/E and ePowerpack systems to improve cross-functional collaboration and accelerate the time-to-market of newly developed products. In the second phase, KTM plans to extend Codebeamer to complete vehicles. This will make Codebeamer a key component in the company's design and development processes.
The introduction of Codebeamer is intended to further optimize internal collaboration by providing a uniform platform for product and software development. This eliminates the need for internal data exchange between different systems. This should significantly increase the speed and quality of project implementation.
"KTM's goal is to maintain and continuously expand its leading position in motorcycle development. To achieve this, it is sometimes crucial to bring high-quality innovations to the market faster and faster. The integration of Codebeamer into our workflows will help us to implement highly efficient development processes," says the company.
"KTM's decision to choose Codebeamer as its ALM platform confirms our strategy to accelerate digital transformation in the dynamic automotive industry," says Christoph Braeuchle, Senior Vice President and General Manager of PTC's ALM segment. "It is a special motivation for us to support KTM in the development of its fascinating and innovative products with our solution."
