A Year of Giving Back with the PTC Foundation
In today's world, social impact is an essential part of doing business responsibly and ethically. At PTC, our commitment to making a positive impact goes beyond our products and services. We’re committed to supporting the growth of strong, resilient communities where our employees, customers, and partners live and work.
That’s why we established “PTC for Good,” which encompasses all the ways we are creating positive change across our entire PTC ecosystem, including the PTC Foundation, to maximize our ability to be a force for good in the world. We're proud of the accomplishments of the PTC Foundation throughout our Fiscal Year 2023 to bring its mission of “creating a better reality” to life through community involvement and employee engagement.
Philanthropic donations
We are enabling our communities to embrace technology through grants and in-kind software donations.
We believe that supporting non-profit organizations is a powerful way to give back to the community. Philanthropic grantmaking through the PTC Foundation and PTC Inc. totaled $590,000 to 31 organizations around the world that support our three core cause pillars:
STEM and education
FIRST Robotics:
A mentor-based program immersing students in science, engineering, and technology through robot competitions, receives substantial support from PTC. In the 2022-23 season, PTC donated $100,000 to FIRST, including $35,000 in grants to sponsor 43 teams. PTC also provided free access to Onshape, a powerful engineering design software – including parts libraries and enablement materials – for all program participants. PTC’s commitment to equitable access levels the playing field, eliminating financial barriers, and promoting diversity in STEM. PTC employees also volunteer with FIRST Robotics by mentoring and inspiring students to foster innovation and teamwork.

Asha for Education: Catalyzing socio-economic change in India through the education of underprivileged children.
Asociatia Natie Prin Educatie: Bringing First Tech Challenge to Romania, sponsoring around 200 Romanian teams from poor regions with game elements and new teams with start-up grants.
Latino STEM Alliance: Providing STEM curriculum to Boston-based Latin/Hispanic students in grades 5-12 with robotics kits, teacher training, and tech support services. PTC’s donation purchased a classroom bundle of 10 VEX IQ robotics kits, serving 20 Latino students.
Madatech: Israel's National Museum of Science, Technology and Space, is a leading hub for informal STEM education to K-12 students, nurturing the nation's future generations of scientists, researchers, and engineers.
National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE): Dedicated to the academic and professional success of Black/African American engineering students and professionals. NSBE Boston supports over 250 students (K-12) each year.
REC Foundation: The Robotics Education & Competition Foundation manages competitions and programs for the VEX Robotics Competition.
Robo Nation: Uniting people through technology to make the world a better place by providing a pathway of hands-on educational experiences that empower students to find innovative solutions to global challenges.
Science Olympiad: The premier team STEM competition in the US provides standards-based challenges to thousands of teams.
Ukraine Angstrem Lyceum School: A virtual primary and secondary school focused on software platforms.
World Computer Exchange: Connecting youth around the world to computers and educational resources, keeping used tech out of landfills, while empowering youth and reducing the digital divide.
Environmental sustainability
Carbon180: A climate policy NGO with a mission to fight climate change by working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote climate solutions.
Conservation International: Protecting critical forests, freshwater, oceans, and the biodiversity humanity needs to survive across 70-plus countries through conservation and restoration efforts.
Community support
Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC): Advancing civil and human rights for Asian Americans to build and promote a fair and equitable society for all.
Association docteur Clown: A child's laughter in the hospital is priceless. This association works for the cause of suffering children thanks to the work of 18 professional clowns in French hospitals. Every year, they meet 15,000 children in pediatric wards with the aim of improving their well-being.
Association for Aid and Relief Japan (AAR Japan): Helping those affected by hardships such as conflicts, natural disasters, and impoverishments.
City Year Greater Boston: Building a more equitable future for students by building on their strengths and cultivating social, emotional, and academic skills that are important in school and life.
Flare Education: Tackling generational poverty through high school workforce development through after-school and out-of-school programs.
Home Base: Healing the invisible wounds of war for Veterans, Service Members, Military Families, and Families of the Fallen through free world-class care and research.
Hope Services: Improving the quality of life for individuals with development disabilities and mental health needs through day services, training, employment, and community living.
Human IT: Creating equitable access for underserved communities. PTC’s donation directly impacted 32 individuals with digital literacy training, connected 25 families to high-speed internet at home, and provided 20 households with a free laptop and tech support.
Inable: Providing resources for people of all abilities in Africa to succeed in school and in the workplace through technology.
International Rescue Committee: Responding to the world's worst humanitarian crises and helping people to survive and rebuild their lives.
Le Refuge: Providing food and shelter to LGBTQIA+ youth who have been thrown out of their homes by their family due to their gender identity or sexual orientation in the south of France. PTC’s donation provided housing and food for an impacted individual for 10 months.
Munchner Tafel: Based in the Großmarkthalle in Munich, this organization provides food to those in need.
New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV): PTC’s donation helped to provide hot meals, training programs, rental payments, moving costs, and clinical stabilization programs for local veterans in need.
Pan-Mass Challenge: A bike-a-thon that raises money for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre: PTC's donation to this well-known rehab center in Pune, India, will directly support rehab of war casualties for patients competing in various wheelchair sport competitions.
Plan International USA: PTC’s donation helped to create sustainable change to advance equality and eliminate poverty for girls and children worldwide with programs for protection, education, health, sanitation, and economic empowerment.
Shanghai United Foundation (SUF): SUF organizes charity activities, such as the “One Egg-Walkathon" and “Family Walkathon" to engage participants and improve the effectiveness of philanthropy projects. SUF works with participants across China to respond to the social issues in the areas of children, the elderly, community and philanthropic initiatives.
Year Up: Empowering young adults to reach their potential through meaningful careers and higher education, no matter their background, zip code, or socioeconomic status.
Empowering employees to give back
We are empowering global employees to positively impact their communities through volunteering and giving.
Employee donation match program
In addition to direct donations and volunteerism, the PTC Foundation also runs an employee donation matching program. This initiative empowers our employees to make a bigger impact with their own contributions to eligible nonprofit organizations, up to $250 USD, or local equivalent, per employee, per fiscal year. In FY23, charitable contributions for the employee donation match program through the PTC Foundation and PTC Inc. totaled over $50,000.
