PTC and Browzwear have launched the first deep, native integration between Browzwear’s 3D design tools and PTC’s FlexPLM solution – bringing the benefits of true-to-life 3D to PLM users at every stage of the product lifecycle.

PTC is proud to announce the results of a pioneering partnership: native integration between the retail industry’s most widely-used PLM platform, FlexPLM, and 3D tools developed by Browzwear.

Users of the latest versions of FlexPLM can now benefit from true, bi-directional integration with Browzwear’s comprehensive 3D design environment VStitcher and its speed-focused creative platform, Lotta. By seamlessly sharing vital product information between these different platforms, PTC FlexPLM customers will be able to improve the efficiency and creativity of their design teams, as well as extending the value of 3D throughout the enterprise.

“Retail is facing unprecedented disruptions with the ever-present need to shorten time-to-market and adjust to shifting consumer demands. 3D has become a critical tool for brands and retailers who need to prototype, sample, and produce on-trend products faster than ever before,” explained Quach Hai, PTC’s VP of Retail Product Management. “But designing and sampling is only part of the picture; the combination of FlexPLM and 3D has the potential to become the engine behind a completely digital product creation workflow. At PTC, we believe strongly in the whole-enterprise value of 3D, so we are excited to be releasing the market’s first native integration with Browzwear’s solutions – putting key product data, like fabrics and color palettes, at designers’ fingertips, and allowing them to share their true-to-life virtual creations with the rest of the business.”

The integration enables brands to reduce product development calendars and reduce product material costs by giving users direct access to design assets stored in FlexPLM from the familiar Lotta and VStitcher interfaces, and vice versa. Thanks to this industry-first partnership, designers can retrieve information from FlexPLM – such as materials, colors, and the full spectrum of product information – all from within Lotta and VStitcher, and then upload their designs as high-resolution 2D and 3D images that can be visualized in FlexPLM by anyone – even team members without access to Browzwear’s 3D solutions.

“Deep integration between 3D and PLM is an important step for the fashion and retail industry to achieving what we see as true product life management workflow for digital product creation, starting with virtual design,” said Lena Lim, Chief Commercial Officer at Browzwear. “We are thrilled to have been able to partner with PTC to deliver a native integration that allows detailed 3D renders to not only allow for reduction of physical samples, but serve as critical assets to be used in an all-digital, automated workflow - taking inspiration to the future of selling, with true-to-life accuracy underpinning it all. The fully featured combination of Browzwear’s solutions and PTC FlexPLM is leading the way for a brand or retailer to share in that vision.”

“We are proud to be the first PLM provider in the retail, footwear, and apparel industry to bring this level of deep, native integration to market,” added Bill Brewster, Senior Vice President and General Manager of PTC’s Retail Business Unit. “We are dedicated to helping PTC FlexPLM customers realize the full value of 3D, and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with the team at Browzwear to unlock more opportunities for 3D and PLM to power brands’ and retailers’ digital transformation goals in the near future.”
