IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures vendor product, go-to-market and business execution in the short-term. The Strategy score measures alignment of vendor strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5-year timeframe. Vendor market share is represented by the size of the icons.

The IDC MarketScape evaluated vendors with a commercially available service parts management application with customers in three industry segments in at least two geographic regions. It was also a requirement to serve the market for at least five years with referenceable clients.

“PTC supports multi-echelon optimization designed for the aftermarket which can simultaneously optimize parts at every location at once,” said Aly Pinder Jr., research vice president, worldwide aftermarket services strategies, IDC. “PTC incorporates an accurate model of the service supply chain, a global optimization with customer-focused targets, and comprehensive scenario based what-if modeling. The offering can optimize for availability/product uptime, multi-period, budget, sustainability objectives, space constraints, referral location, churn control, dealers/retail inventory, contract type, multi-indenture, and rotables.”

Dr. Vipul Agrawal, Vice President of Servigistics Product Management, added, “PTC's multi-echelon optimization uses AI techniques to simultaneously optimize all parts and locations to meet business KPIs in the most optimal and automated manner. Incorporating an accurate predictable digital model of the entire circular supply chain using machine learning introduces significant benefits.”

The PTC team is proud to deliver expertise in vertical, geographical, and function nuances and best practices.

“PTC has domain knowledge in service parts planning with over 2,000 years of combined experience within its dedicated team, said Pinder, Jr.

We believe our elevated approach to multi-echelon optimization, paired with the ability to create a high-fidelity digital twin of the service supply chain and leveraging AI/ML to achieve a semi-autonomous self-healing system, distinguishes us in the market.

“Aftermarket service organizations should consider PTC when searching for a technology partner that has a depth of capability, resources, and domain knowledge in service parts planning. PTC has a proven track record of innovation and technological advancement in support of service parts planning and broader capabilities within the service lifecycle. Through organic and inorganic growth, PTC has helped its customers optimize the service parts planning function to meet the needs of an ever more complex service environment,” the report states.

PTC's vision for Servigistics’ innovation aligns with OEM digital transformation programs to enable and strengthen the digital thread with powerful digital threads delivering peak service outcomes

“We are honored to be recognized by the IDC MarketScape once again as a Leader in service parts planning applications,” said Leslie Paulson, General Manager, Servigistics Business Unit, PTC. “Servigistics has been named a leader in every service parts management analyst report ever written for more than 35 years and is the only vendor accomplishing this feat. We are proud of our heritage delivering value to our clients and feel deep satisfaction helping OEMs maximize equipment uptime and availability with AI-powered optimization capabilities, ensuring that our contributions to the industry align with the principles of sustainability and circularity.”
