Theme 1: Design - September 10, 2024

This series of webinar episodes will feature expert speakers who will guide you through various aspects of design, showcasing the powerful extensions and features of Creo. Expect in-depth tutorials, software demonstrations, and insights into best practices, along with a look at the latest enhancements.

Session 1: Advanced Surfacing Techniques

Led by Irena Roggeveen, this session will explore the advanced surfacing capabilities within Creo. Irena will utilize Creo's powerful surfacing tool to achieve high-quality surfacing results. Irena will demonstrate techniques to enhance your design process and improve surface quality, showing how Creo stands out as a top-tier tool for creating complex, aesthetically pleasing surfaces with precision and ease.​

Session 2: Creo Simulation Live (Conjugate Heat Transfer)

Todd Kraft will take you through the intricacies of Conjugate Heat Transfer (in Creo Simulation Live) in this informative session. Understand how to simulate and manage heat transfer in your designs effectively. Todd will share his expertise using CSL to optimize thermal performance, ensuring your products meet stringent requirements.​

Session 3: Generative Design Innovations

Mark Fischer will walk you through the latest enhancements in Generative Design. This innovative approach leverages AI and advanced algorithms to automatically generate optimal design solutions based on your specifications. Mark will showcase how this generative design can accelerate your design process, reduce material usage, and inspire innovative solutions to complex design challenges. 

Session 4: Harnessing Multibody Design

Martin Neumueller will present Multibody Design, a powerful set of capabilities in Creo that allows for the creation and management of multiple solid bodies within a single part file. This session will cover the benefits and applications of multibody design, including how it can simplify your workflow, improve design flexibility, and facilitate more efficient design iterations. You will also get an update on the latest multibody capabilities introduced in Creo 11 along with an outlook into planned future enhancements.

Session 1: Innovations in Additive Manufacturing 

Presented by Jose Coronado (PTC) and Dr. Andreas Vlahinos (CTO, Advanced Engineering Solutions), this session will cover the latest developments in Additive Manufacturing (AM) within Creo. Learn about the advancements in Simulation-Driven Design (SDD) for AM, enabling you to optimize your designs for 3D printing. Jose and Andreas will demonstrate how to leverage these tools for efficient and innovative manufacturing solutions.

Session 2: High-Speed Milling in Subtractive Manufacturing 

Presented by Jose Coronado (PTC) and Yavuz Murtezaoglu (CEO of Moduleworks), this session will delve into high-speed milling's advances in the industry. Session 1: Streamlining Design with Model-Based Definition (MBD) 

Join Michael Fridman for an insightful talk on the transformative impact of Model-Based Definition (MBD) in Creo. The session begins with PTC User Group and MBD Technical Chair, Ryan Gelotte, exploring how MBD affects the industry, the benefits driving its adoption, and the challenges organizations face. Michael will then showcase Creo's MBD tools, demonstrating how they simplify the transition to MBD. Learn how embedding product and manufacturing information into 3D models can streamline your design process, reduce errors, improve communication, and enhance efficiency, enabling a smooth shift from traditional 2D drawings to a fully digital approach.

Session 2: Leveraging the Digital Thread for Productivity

Explore the concept of the Digital Thread and its transformative impact on product development. Session 3: Maximizing Efficiency with SaaS Solutions

Mark Fischer and Nihal Velpanur will discuss the advantages of Creo+ our SaaS offering, highlighting increased productivity and innovation through rapid delivery of the latest capabilities, cloud-computing technologies, and real-time collaboration. Learn about efficient  license management with better access control and automatic updates, ensuring a consistent, accessible, and enhanced user experience.

Paul Sagar

Vice President, Creo Product Management, PTC​

In his current position, Paul is responsible for understanding broad customer requirements for all of Creo, developing short- and long-range product release plans and communicating those plans across PTC’s development organization.

Mark Fischer

Sr. Director, Creo Product Management, PTC​

Mark oversees the direction of core solutions within Creo, including Creo SaaS, Generative Design, Industrial Design, Rendering, Graphics and Systems, Customization, Data Exchange and partners.  He has been with PTC for over 22 years and has held several positions throughout the company from Technical Sales, Academia and Product Management.

Martin Neumüller

Sr. Director, Creo Product Management, PTC​

Martin has been in product management for Creo Parametric core modeling features, usability as well as direct modeling with the Flexible Modeling Extension and the CAD products in the Creo Elements/Direct product family. Prior to joining PTC, he worked in various roles such as Technical Consultant for HP and as R&D Manager Quality Assurance and Development Environment at CoCreate.

Jose Coronado

Director, Creo Manufacturing applications, PTC

Jose oversees the direction of Manufacturing Solutions within Creo, including Additive Manufacturing, Machining and Mold/Cast design, among others. He has been working on the Manufacturing Industry for more than 30 years, with experience ranging from being a CAD/CAM user in a High-Tech Mold-Making facility, to multiple Technical, Sales, Business Process Consulting and Product Management roles at IBM and PTC.

Michael Fridman

Product Manager for MBD & Detailing, PTC

Michael is responsible for understanding customers’ needs & market trends, converting these into requirements to be implemented into Creo products. Prior to joining PTC, Mr. Fridman worked in various roles, such as CAD application engineer for ISCAR and as Mechanical designer for H.D Engineering and other firms in Israel.

Arnaud van de Veerdonk

Creo Product Manager, PTC

Arnaud is responsible for Creo Product areas like: Assembly, Composites, Mechanism, Product Insight, Design Exploration (DEX), Options Modeler, Analysis tools, Behaviour Modeling (BMX), Parameters & Relations, Manikin and more. He joined PTC in 1992 and holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

Todd Kraft

Creo Product Manager, PTC

Todd is leading simulation products including Creo Simulate, Creo Flow Analysis, Ansys partnership products, Weld, Mold Analysis, Behavioral Modeling and various other features in Creo. Todd joined PTC in 1996 as an Application Engineer. Since then, Todd has worked in a variety of roles for pre-sales, consulting, training and sales resource.

Irena Roggeveen

Creo Product Manager, PTC

Irena joined PTC on the Demo Development team in 2020 leading Creo demo creation for the field and PTC events. In 2023 she joined the Product Management team and leads Surfacing, Modelcheck, Performance Advisor, Graphics, and User Enablement for Creo.

Nihal Velpanur

Creo Product Manager, PTC

Nihal is responsible for Creo SaaS, focusing on real-time collaboration and data management. He also leads Creo-Windchill interaction, Licensing, Systems & Installation, Trials, Documentation, and Product Release. He joined PTC in 2018 and prior to that, has held several roles in the additive manufacturing industry, including product management, research, and strategy.

Ryan Gelotte

PTC/USER Model-Based Enterprise Technical Committee Chair

Over 20 years of experience in design, manufacturing, product development, tooling and digital engineering disciplines spanning multiple industries. This includes a strong background with advanced Computer Aided Technologies (CAx) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions. I have developed a deep understanding of many digital tools and processes. My passion is working with others to fundamentally change how products are realized by fully maximizing the value of these latest digital technologies.

Dr. Andreas Vlahinos

CTO

Dr. Andreas Vlahinos is the CTO of Advanced Engineering Solutions. Andreas has concentrated on DfAM, Computer Aided Innovation, Generative Design, Lattice Structures, and Simple Solutions to Complex Problems. He has been instrumental in rapid product development for several Government agencies such as NASA, NREL, SANDIA, DOE, NCDMM, and US Army Aviation & Missile Command and several industry partners such as SpaceX, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, etc. He has been a Professor of structural engineering at the University of Colorado. At international conferences, he is regularly invited as a keynote speaker and panelist on various subjects (Generative Design, Innovation, DfAM, IoT).

Dr. Yavuz Murtezaoglu

Founder & Managing Director of ModuleWorks

Yavuz is the Founder and Managing Director of ModuleWorks. He has 30 years’ experience in 5-axis CAM development and a PhD in Multi-Axis Additive Manufacturing. For his contribution to production engineering, he was awarded by CIRP with the “General Nicolau” Industry Award.

Jeffrey Zemsky

Vice President, Windchill Product Management, PTC

Jeff is the VP for Windchill Product Management team. This team leads core Windchill business focused processes such as CAD Data management, Configuration & Change management, Platform Modularity, Manufacturing Transformation and Process Plans, Quality, Collaboration, Projects and Windchill. He was active in the PTC/USER community serving as Chair for the Windchill Solutions committee and on the Board of Directors for PTC/USER helping to bring voice of customer input together and create a community where people could network for tools and processes.
