Tolerance Analysis

The easy way to perform tolerance stackup analysis.

What is tolerance analysis?

Tolerance analysis allows engineers to understand how geometric tolerance stackup and dimensional variation impact design quality and manufacturability. The analysis enables design engineers to identify contributing tolerances that can be modified to achieve higher quality and manufacturability.

A design model is an idealized representation of a part design. Due to manufacturing limitations, physical parts never match the design model. If you want the components of your product to fit together correctly, you’ll want your parts and assemblies to be within certain tolerances or acceptable degrees of variation.

Creo EZ Tolerance Analysis Extension is an extension to Creo Parametric. With Creo EZ Tolerance Analysis Extension you can evaluate the impact of dimensioning on product designs before either prototyping or manufacturing.

Reduced cost

Reduce manufacturing cost by decreasing rework and scrap. Better tolerance analysis can lead to improved quality and reduced warranty and service costs.

Related technologies: Tolerance analysis, GD&T, and MBD

Combine Tolerance Analysis with Geometric Tolerancing and Dimentioning (GD&T) to ensure that your designs comply with the relevant ASME and ISO standards. You can take your designs even further to contain all the data needed to define the product with model-based definition (MBD), as your model becomes the source authority across the enterprise.

Using these tools, designers can create products that meet customer requirements within acceptable margins. The result: shorter product development cycles, lower product cost, and higher product quality.

Creo EZ Tolerance Analysis Extension

Easy-to-use, powerful capabilities integrated directly into Creo.

Creo EZ Tolerance Analysis Extension provides two analysis tools: worst-case analysis and statistical analysis. Worst-case analysis, often used for critical components, considers what happens when each of the components in the stack-up reaches the maximum acceptable measurement. In statistical analysis, each component’s variation is modeled as a statistical distribution. These distributions then are added together to predict the distribution of the assembly measurement.
