PTC in Copy

PTC should always appear in all caps. The registration mark should appear at the first mention of PTC® when used as an adjective for software. When PTC is first mentioned in a headline, the registration mark can be moved to first mention in body copy.

Exceptions for first mention requirement made for media such as video, social posting copy, and web applications where the trademark is so small it is not legible or is distracting. But please include it wherever possible.

Examples where ® is needed:

  • “PTC® Creo+ software release”
  • “PTC® Onshape release includes…”
  • “PTC® Windchill® software named outright leader in PLM”

When referring to PTC as the company, ® should not be used.

Examples where ® is not needed:

  • “We at PTC put the customer first”
  • “PTC headquarters is located at 121 Seaport Blvd”
  • “Creo+ from PTC”
  • “PTC Corporate Experience Center”
  • “PTC’s Creo® software" (Do not use ® when PTC is possessive)
